Such a fervent call can only be heard. How can one remain deaf in such circumstances? When one comes towards a loving heart, it is good to leave therein the graces capable of embellishing it. A cold and dry heart cannot attract them.

"When you clear, little by little, the undergrowth from the arid path on which you climb towards the summit, many elements contribute to this advancement.

"In the way we propose to you, there are effective means to help you in your work. Love must emerge from you, maintained by your own flame, which we can easily stoke; but it is necessary for it to gush forth from you spontaneously and draw all its power from the aspirations of a fervent soul. This dimension gives your process a special base. While you advance on this way with a heart full of love, the asperities that characterise it seem less hard. It is good to develop love inside oneself; without it, the climbing is likely to run out of steam. It is essential to any process; it constitutes its richness and beauty.

"Without it, the great achievements remain out of reach. Strongly invite it – if it is not already strong enough in you – to hoist you towards the summits. To reach them, love must spark brilliantly in you to the extent of covering all the rest.

"Love is the most powerful force; it is capable of achieving wonders."

You are isolated from the outside world, but your spiritual life is rich and it largely compensates for any other aspect you may be lacking. While being in a state of acceptance, you polish the beautification of your inner life. This compensation is offered to you. You can be delighted and thankful; your path is not banal.

"The fruits of a well led spiritual life are most appreciable. They do not remain an asset related to this Earthly existence, hence subjected to sinking into oblivion.

"You have known all this for a long time already, but it is not superfluous to remind you.

"All our aspirants go through moments of lassitude. Faith does not remedy all evils; joy emerges from all these difficult periods, putting a balm on a wounded heart.

"Life is perpetual change, which affects man's mood. You, abhyasis, have the means through your practice to keep in your hearts a constant state, maintained by a transmission of subtle energy. The more you advance, the surer this refuge will become. You will be soundly protected from the attacks of time, storms, and upheavals prevailing in this world. You build yourselves an edifice which cannot be assailed by the upheavals caused by the vagaries of this Earthly existence. Only the growing flame in you must monopolise your attention. It accompanies you beyond this life, without undergoing any fluctuation. See to it to maintain it carefully; it is precious."
