Becoming as one with the sublime presence inside you, this is what you must aspire to very deeply: that the same breath should unite these two beings, so close and so different at the same time. It is not easy for an aspirant to understand these subtleties. What is this presence exactly? [It is] the unique part of your own person which defies time, an incarnation and your conditions of life. It resists all the torments; this life is only an episode for it, which cannot undermine its divine substance. It deserves all your attention and most fervent care. Nourish this presence with your regularity in your spiritual practice; cherish in your heart noble thoughts, full with love – they are its richest nourishment. You should know how to dissociate it from your material life, by giving it first place; thus, it will necessarily bloom in this conducive environment.

"Its very essence will be reinforced by this climate, which you will be able to establish. Let this divine presence widen its sphere of activity and guide your life for your greatest good, since you will thus be guided towards the beautiful and the good, with no risk of losing your way."
