Our abhyasis are also caught up in movement that they cannot fully control. Destiny plays its part in this, and everyone has to live with it; this is inevitable. “Until the end, life holds surprises that are not always pleasant. Learning to accept them and trying to understand their meaning is wisdom itself. How many destinies end up answering the true wishes of the human being! Following a spiritual way allows one to figure things out, to protect oneself by going beyond material aspects. An incarnation is only a brief episode compared to eternity; in many circumstances one needs to put things into perspective and see, beyond appearances, the true signs of destiny. “It takes time on this Earth to achieve an understanding of the essential aspects that characterise an incarnation; each incarnation is a link in a chain where a vast [network] of intersecting destinies interact with each other for the fulfilment of that which must come about. Doesn’t everything have its raison d’être? Acceptance is a sign of wisdom. It saves valuable time, helping one overcome events and go beyond materiality. Thus does one get over hurdles, avoiding stagnation and furthering the quest for the Divine, to which all human beings aspire, irrespective of whether they are conscious of it or not.
