Thus is life on this Earth: one has to find a right balance between the spiritual and material [aspects], even if the latter weighs heavily at an advanced stage of one's existence. Until the end, one has to fight and to cope as well as possible. Only a moment of escape, towards more luxuriant shores haloed with peace and love, makes it possible for the mystic to keep in himself the necessary energy to face up to turbulences. Nothing is ever acquired definitively; this series of new beginnings characterises the laws of life, wherever it may take place.
"The divine principle is the driving force. This renewing force is precisely contained in changes, the driving force for any creative expression.
"Man struggles to adapt to changes; he accepts them to some extent, when they do not shake up his habits too much. He seeks safety and stability, yet he can lose in one moment anything considered as his most invaluable possessions in this material world. In these circumstances, his only recourse is the fruit of his spiritual quest and the prospects it opens up for him. It seems that all is made to detach him from useless aspects and to make him understand how everything in this world is so illusory, except for the divine power that leads beings towards their higher destiny – for all eternity.
"It is not easy to acquire unfailing wisdom. Even the best prepared sometimes fall back into their old ways, letting themselves go, doubting themselves and all else in the face of ordeals. The hard struggle for life is dreadful. Happy are those
