It is necessary to put up well with the ill effects of age; I experienced them, what else can we do! You still have an area where everything keeps growing and becoming more attractive. This secret garden, hidden from inquisitive eyes, gives you many compensatory joys. Take refuge in it and dismiss regrets about things that do not exist any more. Other prospects are taking shape for you; they will not be subjected to the ravages of the years.

"Remain centred as much as possible on your inner process. See it as being pleasant at the utmost; let it bring you the subtlest joys that would erase your torments. You have this great luck; feel sorry for those who do not have this refuge, who ignore God and do not know that an elsewhere exists as an extension of this life, which they believe ends definitively with death.
