As you can see it is all simple: the relationship with God is made of love and surrender only – love, primarily. If one advances towards Him with a wide-open heart, He will necessarily recognise His creature.
"What else can one give Him, He who has all? Nothing. He wipes away the tears of repenting hearts that turn to Him. He loves His children, over all.
"He wants only their good, even if the effects of this love must entail tests and tears. It is in adversity that they look towards Him – imploring, repenting and subjected.
"A life of pleasures and joys would not be enough to mould a soul; it needs to experience all states, including suffering. The most beautiful ones go through this stage, where, out of utter helplessness, they call the Divine Father. Love is not easy to decode. It comprises many facets, each more subtle than the other.
"Love that is addressed to God is unique, because of another essence, a blessed one. This form of love is unique since it is dedicated to the creator of all things. It is right that it be so, as it is man's sole means to show his gratitude."
