This Sufi proverb* shows clearly that human beings cannot understand or interpret what they must sometimes painfully go through. They do not appreciate it and believe they are forgotten, abandoned to their sad fate.
That is an essential point. Throughout their lives, human beings are confronted with difficulties and dramas that leave them broken. They need a strong philosophy of life to admit that everything they have to endure is meant for their own good. Being in complete surrender is the most difficult thing to achieve. The great sages reach that stage after weathering many storms, their hearts sacrificed on the altar of faith, love and total trust. Advance in that direction, my dear sister, without seeking to know the why of things, since God's secrets are not revealed in this life. Let yourself be carried like a child living on the graces that your heart receives.
