When we say one should be able to turn a page of one's life, it is not a mere metaphor. You all must truly make your own assessment, with rigour, and then start again on a new basis, without looking back. You can't change anything in the past, but you can build the future with solid materials that you can choose according to your true goals.

There comes a moment in the sadhana when one has to make a clean sweep and clearly know what one wants, so that at the crossroads there is no possible hesitation. If you are really convinced of the importance of your approach, it must move to the foreground, leaving aside what doesn't seem to be important.

You must give it its true place according to what has priority in your eyes. Be well aware of this aspect of things.
