A couple can function well only if each one respects the other's way of thinking. Especially when it comes to spirituality. It is not easy to make a success of life as a couple. How many of our associates must make a sometimes painful choice and give up pursuing an approach that was necessary for their blossoming.

Europe is backward on this point, religions still have a big influence. The media highlight a few unfortunate cases. The systematic assault against all movements referred to as 'sects', in the pejorative sense of the term, wreaks havoc on people's minds.

Without being understood by those around you, it is difficult to practice in the right conditions.

We do not lose sight of these isolated and sincere individuals who, so as not to destroy a family, pursue their spiritual path in secret and often in great suffering.

The big flaw in this society is intolerance. We are no longer in the time of the 'witches of Salem', and yet it is present and harmful in all areas.

Racism is the most striking example. When skin colour is no longer an obstacle to brotherhood, a great step will have been taken.

The phenomenon is not new, one must not generalize or cloud the issue, it exists.

At the level of the social classes, the lack of money and the lack of education are still serious barriers.

All of you who are in a serious spiritual process, try to place yourselves beyond all these human failings. Never believe you are superior to the have-nots, you would be putting a brake on your evolution.

Consider the other person, regardless of their occupation, culture and race, as a brother or sister. Getting yourselves out of this conventional mindset will take you a long way.

Abolish from your mind everything that constitutes one of the human tragedies: believing oneself superior to one's neighbour.

True equality can be established only through bonds of the spirit and the heart, as we understand it: all are equal, by the divine presence that dwells within and is never selective.
