This period of questioning and concern about future events will get minds working. Some will draw positive conclusions. They will better understand the transitory side of life and the fact that there is no time to waste in trivialities. Those who are ready will see it that way; many others will continue in the same vein, without changing their habits in the least.

These are moments in existence when a person can question themselves – review their past, what they have done, what they have not done – and decide, in the final analysis, to adopt a new way of life, thinking a little differently by realizing the frailty of their own being and of all that surrounds them. If they realize, even the slightest bit, the grandeur of the universe, of the mechanisms that govern it, of this power that they cannot describe with poor words – what are they, so small in relation to this immensity? Nothing, or very little.

Whether they exist or not, what difference does it make in this vast programme?

If they realize this, even for a moment, they will perhaps leave behind their overweening ambition – if such is the case – and their high opinion of themselves, and possibly return to more humility. That would be, for them, the beginning of wisdom.
