Keep smiling for me, will you? You no longer rebel in the face of ordeals as you did in the past. You thus realise how far you have come. Even if this flame that burns in you flickers a little now and then, you keep an inner state close to grace. We would like to be able to spare you having to endure all these physical miseries, but we can't. You will understand one day and you will thank us. When all accounts have been settled, that will tip the scales toward the good side, and then joy will no longer leave you.
We have managed to make you lay yourself bare in expressing your love for us; that has cost you a lot. It is not mawkishness on your part. It required a very big effort such as you had never made before with the beings you loved most on Earth.
Everything you can write in these moments when love and grace carry you away is to be considered with respect. When the heart succeeds in expressing itself in such a way, we are in the most complete union. Those who won't understand it will have to be pitied.
