An immense preparatory work is under way for the end of April. There will be quite some turmoil, tears and disappointments. A certain laxity has crept into Sahaj Marg. Our role is to push our associates in order to make them advance, and not let them get bogged down in a humdrum routine which cannot be salutary. We do not ask an iron discipline, but a minimum of respect for the method. The West is disconcerting as regards spiritual work.

We must now shift into a higher gear. The world will be saved by the spiritual. The ultimate recourse will come from there and from the goodwill of human beings. It is time for each one to become aware of the mess of this industrial civilization and its devastating effects on humans, in the best of themselves – which is to say, the divine. Family and personal values of individuals no longer have any structure. One respects nothing.

Humanity cannot continue in this escalation that would lead it to chaos.

Look at what happens around you, and listen. Wouldn't you like to stop seeing and cover your ears? Do something, reexamine your way of living, your ideals, beyond profit and well-being at any price. We do not ask you to live in scarcity, but to take stock and see your real needs.

Consider that your time on Earth is limited in a way you can't imagine. So try to better reconcile the material and the spiritual. Without a certain wisdom, humans

cannot be happy. Apart from 'small happinesses', fleeting and illusory, true joy can come only from within. Such a joy is lasting, beyond reach of the deceptions of a deceitful and disappointing world. Build yourselves a luminous universe where you will be happy to come and recharge yourselves.

Make efforts; nothing can be obtained without work. You have not understood this well, as far as the spiritual is concerned.

Your world of today does not like effort. Everything must come to it easily: 'Why should one wear oneself out? It's inhuman!' Reflect! Take stock of your life. Re-examine your errors of judgement, your rash decisions, your egotistical reactions which, for some, have shattered their family or professional life. Our role is not to moralize, but there comes a time when one must assess the situation and become aware of what must be changed, corrected, in order to set out on new bases and obtain the desired results.

Be uncompromising with yourselves before being so with others. Look at the world with compassion; many don't have your good fortune, including that of moving forward on a beautiful path that does not, after all, require an inordinate amount of courage. Do your best, but truly wanting to do things well. Question yourselves; it's a matter of urgency. Life is short, and lost time cannot be made up for.

Make your assessment and act accordingly; you are your own obstacle. It's up to you to decide what you really want.

You see, my daughter, this message may not be understood and may cause doubt. People don't like to have their weak points pointed out. Do your level best in what concerns you. We want you to advance and taste here below unparalleled joys. We want only your good and that of everyone. As concerns the ashram, without some tolerance

towards one another and the goodwill of each one, how can one really make it move forward? It's up to you to see!
