Memories, good and otherwise, constitute the substance of one’s life, in which everything is counted and remembered. Thus are the laws of karma, and every human being must cope with their own. Karma results from past lives, through which so many stories have succeeded each other, leading the human being into his or her present situation. All this is very mysterious to a person – how can one go deeper into the facts? Each piece of the puzzle constitutes an important element for what comes next and for the course of events on this long karmic journey. Surrender is justified in this context more than elsewhere. In the broad outline, nothing can be changed. One’s intent to do the right thing, to conform to the higher power, opens perspectives. Everything is counted in the smallest detail; this fact is astounding for the human being. How is it possible to achieve such meticulousness in the workings of the divine laws, which operate here below with extreme rigour? Everything has its raison d’être. In this area, surrender remains, as always, the inescapable recurring theme. All is for the best in the kingdom of heaven and for the abhyasi on his or her personal journey. This is how it is.
