Obedience is to be considered as an act of faith and love towards a higher authority. To venerate one's Master is to accept his decisions, without seeking to analyse or criticise them, as his view of things is very different. He is guided by inspiration, far from the criteria of human reasoning. A fervent disciple must place himself in this framework and understand that he does not access the same source of information.
"The human being is used to reacting to everything, to delivering his opinion and to systematically judging – that is how he is. On the issue that interests us here, wisdom suggests that he should refrain in many circumstances from adopting such an attitude, thus showing a certain maturity of consciousness.
"We have said this before: all has its raison d'être. The formula is simple, but it conceals a whole system of thought that helps the seeker in his quest. Ultimately, all is brought back to the initial simplicity. As regards spirituality, complicated studies lead to an exasperation of the mind, which does not foster the process of expansion of the soul.
"It is necessary to know what one wants in this field. To surrender to one's Master is not an empty word. To trust him is to admit to his superiority and his power in the esoteric field, where indeed the seeker needs him.
"Who else can open the secret doors that he is desperately trying to go through in order to follow the luminous way of a gratifying spiritual rise – a rise that he craves for with all his soul, thirsting for fusion with the Ultimate.
