Perseverance, rigour, surrender and love – these are the key words of a spiritual life that evolves around these relevant principles. Love is a basic concept: it is the open sesame to all doors.

"All has its importance. The material life is made up of details; that which concerns us here is driven by the many workings that make it evolve. A spiritual process has a specific goal: to free oneself from the cycle of reincarnations. This is what makes an aspirant grow stronger. He knows where his efforts are geared: to progressing, freeing himself and uniting completely with God.

"Moving towards mergence with the Ultimate: is this programme sufficiently inspiring? As time passes, the aspiration is increasingly pressing.

"A very strong call is felt, which makes the rest devoid of interest.

"The soul becomes insistent in its need of communion with the eternal, when it has reached this stage of evolution.

"Man must follow, he feels small. Carried by this enthusing inner force, he aspires only to mergence. This is the achievement of his search."

My daughter, regain courage. It is not all finished, as you seem to think. Did I not already tell you that you still have a lot more to do? No life is useless; neither yours nor even others are dead weights in this great plan designed for humanity as a whole. Therefore give thanks every day for being able to serve it, to take part in this subtle mutation that is taking place in secrecy and so slowly that it is not perceptible to human eyes. Why would you be more useful elsewhere? What do you know exactly? Who are you? What are you doing? Man remains a mystery to himself. He is like an automaton, driven by the threads of his destiny. He acts and his life passes, it proceeds according to foreseen plans. It is said that man has his free will, which is true; he is left with some leeway to express his wishes. Will they be fulfilled? It is possible, provided they do not question the guiding line.

"Man must keep the illusion that he is the one running his life. He clings to this idea, until some wisdom leads him to realising that it is nothing of the sort."
