Inevitably, men will turn to spirituality; it is in the order of things. Times are changing, slowly, but the process is well under way. All is taking place at the pace envisaged; nothing is left to chance. Man is astonished: why this, why that? He does not understand the divine laws. He brings everything back to his small person, and the more he remains focused on it in this frame of mind, the less he understands.

"He cannot admit that he belongs to a coherent whole, although appearances may lead him to think the opposite.

"He believes he is strong, free, and independent; he is nothing of the sort. His small life, which he believes he is running, leads him to where he could not have imagined going. That is how it goes; he must accept it. No man is all-powerful; he is only the victim of an illusion. He should realise how he is very small and powerless to change the world, except when he is chosen to make it advance in one direction or another. Good and evil have a mixed perception in the eyes of humans, according to their life view. They are continuously subjected to influences that distort their judgement, which they believe to be sound.

"They are a mere representation of their own destiny."

Knowledge is good, it is desirable, but the essence of a spiritual step lies at another level and only a specific type of work can make this step productive. A sadhana, well understood and implemented to the letter, crowned with a Master's monitoring is bound to be successful. We cannot go beyond what is desirable in terms of the teaching we give you. We prefer to insist on aspects essential to your progress in your way of being, which is more important than knowledge. Transforming yourself within the framework of your progress requires your sustained attention. You should not give in to your tendencies by simply saying: Master will provide for it.

"You should not neglect this aspect of your self. Some minimal efforts are desirable; nothing can be obtained otherwise. While progressing step by step, you become aware of your weaknesses. They should on no account hold you back if you are really determined to advance. There also, repetition is necessary, nothing constructive can be obtained without it.

"Perseverance is a major asset, it must be highly developed; in this area, nothing should be neglected."
