The ways of God are unfathomable, they say. Why is His choice fixed on such and such a person, for a given function? There is the mystery; that is the way it goes. There is no point in dwelling on the subject. Being in a state of surrender and confidence with respect to His works is still the most beautiful way of loving Him. Why envy the beings who are 'chosen'? This fact constitutes a brake on one's evolution. There are many unfortunate examples in our way. Great wisdom consists in recognising that no one is authorised to judge one's fellow man, let alone the Master or his choices. That is how the esoteric tradition goes. How would the abhyasi be able to know better than Him what should be done in certain circumstances? Only dark reasons..., so it seems, since it is not up to him to decide, to know what is good for the Mission or for the individual who serves it. The abhyasi has a lot to do with himself; he should leave it there. The Mission is doing well. It is making progress in spite of the vagaries inherent in all that is created and lives here below."
