The Venerable puts it extremely well: the day you are ready, the revelation will dawn in you. The goal of our teaching is to prepare you to receive it, and not to give you subjects for essay writing – which would not be useless, but which would not hit the true target. Popular knowledge books lie on the specialised shelves of bookstores; so many books are devoted to this.

"What we are doing here is of a different nature. Only your heart can appreciate this difference. Seemingly insignificant sentences touch you in the depth of your being without you realising it. Man always expects novelty; it is normal. We all went through that stage, seeking information capable of making us understand the universe and our role therein. Where we came from, where we are going, the secrets of the beyond, who is God, where is He: these questions always remain the same. Human beings will keep asking them as long as the world exists. None of them can penetrate the true secrets – which will yet remain outside his reach for a long time."
