You tend to avoid contact with beings imperfect in your eyes; their weak points disturb yours. There lies the problem that must hold your entire attention. The spiritual practice as we do it in our way helps you to smooth away the asperities of your character. It makes them surface so as to better apprehend them. Our candidates are searching, they are not accomplished saints; otherwise would they be among us! It is the question each one of our abhyasis should ask themselves, which would encourage them to inwardly develop tolerance towards their brothers. It is easier to see other people's weaknesses than to correct one's own. The cleaning work being carried out in our way is an invaluable contribution for succeeding – this doesn't need underlining. The importance of this action may escape you, but it is essential and it facilitates your progress. Inner purification requires great moral fibre, which you cannot exercise single-handedly. When the heart is ready to accept a guide who will make its work easier, it calms down and renders thanks for so many graces. The horizon clears up; its destiny seems less dangerous to it. All its gratitude and its faith can be expressed; it can henceforth give its best."
