Try to keep serenity in your heart; what is inside you is indestructible. Cling to this idea; it is the only means of keeping course when the storm is raging.
"Life's turbulences do not put in danger this preserved islet, sacred in its very essence. This consolation can seem derisory in certain circumstances, when the being of flesh bends completely under the burden.
"May the time come soon when the soul can sail, immortal and relieved from its chains; the time when – integrated into the choruses of angels and carried by their melodious songs – it will be able to sing the praises of its God, having fled this perverse world and the cries of despair which rise towards Him, the only recourse for men of goodwill. God must sanction and put his children, in spite of themselves, on the right track. It is a long-term job, His patience is great and His love boundless; He loves them all whatever their karma.
"Pray for all your brothers who are struggling and calling for help. Their cries are rising towards us; they are innumerable. Try to visualise suffering humanity – you cannot. So, demonstrate compassion and love for it [humanity]."
