Abhyasis must be vigilant, and should not add to the basic teaching, which is very simple, a code resembling the religion we have just mentioned. In the future, this vigilance will be particularly critical. Men have the tendency of always trying to distort the truth. If we draw your attention to a certain attitude to keep up for your own good, on no account do we intend to make you feel guilty. That goes against our work; by creating in yourself this kind of samskara, you curb your progress.

"You must yourself put things into perspective concerning such-and-such of your behaviours; you are your own judge. Except for the Master himself, it is not in the remit of any preceptor, or anyone else in the Mission, to criticize you. In the case of a very serious personal attack, one should not fear to refer it to the Master rather than letting dormant situations take place, which would not bring about anything good for the group. It's up to you to try to always remain, under all circumstances, in a happy medium. With our help, you should have a clearer understanding and do your best."
