Men in high places or common people: all is a question of roles assigned for the needs of an imposing play, being performed in the world of men. Each one must do one's level best and bear one's burden, more or less heavy, visible or hidden, no one being able to escape the multiple aspects of an incarnation. If humans could finally understand that they are all equal —that races, social attributes creating differences in the eyes of men, do not justify at all a haughty attitude towards the most underprivileged—they would avoid unfortunate karmic consequences.
"Our aspirants should not lose sight of these concepts essential to their evolution. Only this can distinguish them from the others. Their social position here below will not be of any help to them with regard to the divine laws where purity and the elevation of the soul are the only criteria capable of opening the way to them.
"The pride of some men is foolish and it leads them on a dangerous way, moving them away from the goal to be reached. Their true merit is that which they acquire through victory over themselves, by surpassing themselves to let open out what all humans have equally: the divine presence within them.
"If men wanted to actually convince themselves of this notion of equality, the face of the world would change and each one would excel in one's role specific to a transitional incarnation."
