A disciple's love for his Master can be truly established only if it is associated with surrender and total confidence. This relationship is shaped gradually at the level of the aspirant, according to the stages he manages to reach, thus building bonds defying time. The examples are very many. To attain this rare union is edifying; it leaves traces in history, setting examples for those who follow this way.
"All great spiritual movements have their own examples. Our way will keep to the rule. This kind of love is of a rare essence not changing through centuries. It still manages to touch the hearts in a world blasé in many respects by excesses of all kinds. Divine love magnifies the soul; it propels it toward heights, which it has aspired to for eternity.
"To follow a spiritual way is to go in this direction, through a quest that keeps deepening from stage to stage on one's way. In this case, it is unthinkable to go back, although some examples show the opposite. They are really distressing. We saw such cases even in our Mission, but it is advisable not to dwell on appearances.
"Man in his judgment does not go beyond appearances. The intentions of God are unfathomable and it is enough to leave it there. Each one has enough to deal with concerning one's own case. Reaching the goal is not easy, it is appropriate to be devoted to it seriously; we offer to all the relevant means."
