Don't let the waves of melancholy overwhelm you so much. Life on Earth is as it is, and you cannot change it. You can only change your life. Each day gives you an opportunity for that; this change can be effected in you in very many areas. This inner journey provides you with wide horizons. What you can build in you, cannot be defined in words. It can only result from a suitable attitude and a beneficial mental construction.

"In that area, faith is the key aspect: it can move mountains, as they say. The top to be reached is within oneself. Attaining the goal remains the objective capable of satisfying the soul, when it burns with the need to merge with the Ultimate one. This need is felt in many ways. Humans think of it as having vague yearnings, without actually defining the cause of it.

"Our abhyasis should understand its nature. Their dissatisfaction in the world of men relates mainly to this lack, this thirst for the Divine, not quenched as is proper. A mystic can withdraw to this imperceptible bastion offering infinite resources.

"The material world, once all its possibilities have been explored, cannot fulfil a soul, if it does not lead to another dimension whose treasures cannot be assessed humanly. A wise man understands the difference: he can be divested of everything here below, but the essentials are immutable and reliable, there is no doubt about that. May the soul of our aspirants open more and more to the ineffable splendour."
