The decline of the Mission's membership taking place in France is not worrying. It results, to a great extent, from a campaign orchestrated by the government and picked up by the media. Our method is not at issue, how could it be? Unknown by detractors, misunderstood by some practising members who lack perseverance, how could it be more widely appreciated in a society at the opposite end of the spectrum from any method of interiorization and a rich spiritual life?

Movement and noise belong to daily life for the majority of human beings.

People feel the need to escape, fleeing from who knows what, apart from themselves, being unable to pause and take stock of their real aspirations. A time will come when their entire environment will collapse. They will not keep on fleeing eternally. Their way of life will be upset; they will become powerless in the face of the desert of their existence. Hence, they will perhaps become aware that there is within them another life, and that a space of beauty is accessible to them, if they want to strive for it. Finding themselves limited from all sides, as far as their old way of functioning is concerned, perhaps they will have the wisdom to set out again on new bases.

That is our best wish for them.
