Don't be worried for your brother-in-heart. He's going through stages that are necessary for him. His ordeals are initiatory. All that was his life's interest has been removed from him. Will he open his eyes in time? That is the question.

Death is a beginning, as you know. When the time comes, his evolution will continue on other levels, since life here below no longer holds any interest to him. Physical decline traumatizes him very deeply and he cannot accept it.
