You are advancing, my daughter, isn't that what you wish? We can't spare you everything, regarding the miseries of this world; as for your spiritual advancement, we manage it as we see fit. By offering us your heart, you place it under our protection and it's up to us to oversee its flourishing.

This is not a major concern for you; you do what you deem is right to serve us, without expecting any reward. You cannot do better, doing it out of self-interest serves no valid cause. Surrendering to the divine will must be accomplished with utmost selflessness.

The efforts bear fruit, that's in the order of things; the love offered in addition, is like an aureole crowning it all.

To love, to love endlessly, to give over one's heart with fervour – isn't that the most beautiful part of this? Don't you all feel, when you do this, that a kind of exaltation seizes you and makes you happy? Meditate on this way of being and cultivate it within yourselves, if it is not innate. Your approach will find its letters of nobility there.
