Cultivate, with utmost care, the love that you've developed within yourself for your Master. It is like a plant of great rarity; its essence is very special and cannot be reproduced at will.

Arriving at this quality of love is a grace, requiring unbounded gratitude.

In this context, it's not about loving the physical person of the Master. Here, we are talking about the unfailing bond of soul that unites Master and disciple, beyond the attachment and admiration that can be aroused by human beings.

This bond should in no way prompt rejection of the successor who will lead the Mission after him.

We are all mortal in this existence; the Mission will continue expanding in the world and will require a guide of a high stature to accompany it on all stages of its development.

True disciples, aware of this state of affairs, accept the succession with gratitude, knowing the necessity of a living Master, and offer their services with equal enthusiasm and faith, as the cause to be served remains the same. This essential point is to be considered.

True mystics can put things into perspective; they have reached a degree of maturity that protects them from this kind of drifting. To love one's Master is to accept the successor that has been chosen.

Our long-time aspirants are no longer in spiritual childhood. Loving truly also means: showing all one's greatness of soul in the face of the events of this life – of which the event that interests us here being paramount for them.
