It is true that for us this first day of an Earthly year means nothing. These are human and quite erroneous reference points, as we have said regarding the Christian chronology. What do these details matter; the reality of advancing on a spiritual path gives you all a less limited view of things. The essential lies elsewhere than in those disproportionate festivities – so we hope for you. The goal to be reached must be your main objective, it isn't limited to one life only. In this life you really become aware of its importance, and you do what is necessary to get there. While advancing, you'll detach yourselves from trivial things, your tastes will change and you'll react differently in many circumstances. You will then be able to measure the distance travelled, and that recognition will be more important than the fact of moving on to the year 2000.

Be joyful with those you love, laugh and sing if you like, but let this joy also be in knowing that the passing time brings you closer to the sacred door. May the New Year come in under good auspices for you all, with our blessings.
