To certain beings, including you, God chooses to appear abruptly in a precise circumstance, which was the case for you in Lisieux. The revelation was awaiting you in this place and it transformed your life.

"The Guru of the gurus has multiple resources. He knows how to gather souls; He waits for a good moment. When the soul has matured, He literally swoops down on it.

"You were chosen, my child; it remained for you to carry on your way. Even guided and supported, the human being has choices to make. He sometimes gets lost; he has unfortunate experiences, but they are necessary for him. To carry him completely would not do any service for him. He must sometimes have his wings burnt by the flames of life.

"God is the great comforter. To whom does one turn when everything is going wrong? Only He can understand us.

"He knows all the weaknesses of His creature who must advance in spite of everything, and progress in spite of the handicaps which hinder him.

"When grace literally strikes a being, this divine gift makes his guides smile and it delights their hearts, filled with happiness." --The Uplift
