A review of human evolution since the caveman lets one figure out a little which way man has come. The most interesting point of view relates to his spiritual evolution.

"In remote times, he was afraid of the elements; he suffered from them, and therefore dreaded them. He used to beseech the sun, the moon, as well as the rain that was at the same time useful and frightening to him. Thus did men get the habit of beseeching a higher form without actually identifying it well.

"Today's man has nothing to do with yesterday's man any more. He has more knowledge, but he is not spared the blows of fate in spite of all modern comforts. Does he understand better the higher reality and the goal of his existence? There remains such a step to be taken in this direction that it is distressing. You are lucky, you, who have understood to be in search and in constant evolution on the spiritual level; we are delighted and you should rejoice with us to belong to the chosen ones; there remains so much to do for humanity."
