Sahaj Marg is at the beginning of its existence. It will have to overcome great difficulties: men's madness will deal it blows of all sorts, but it will do like the wise man who picks himself up after his trials, strengthened and more lucid in the face of life. A great spiritual way cannot establish itself without shocks.

"The roots of Christianity are very deeply rooted: even if the tree seems obviously to be ageing, people's minds are very much influenced by it. Whether he practices it or not, a human being is subjected to a kind of atavistic influence.

"New times will come when light will be cast on all that has codified and led to the degeneration of such a beautiful teaching. Narrow-minded and sectarian people have had for centuries a stranglehold on individuals by making them feel guilty, by threatening them with the fires of hell. How is it that Christianity has been reduced to that and to doing so much harm? That is where excesses and sectarianism lead."
