Don't think of the future, my child, the present is enough for you. For as long as the world has existed, humans have adapted themselves as best they can to the great mutations of the Earth, the great upheavals caused by cataclysms that separate territories, creating continents, islands, climate changes and mountains where there were none. The Earth has been torn apart, ill-treated, shaken, and it is not yet over, but don't worry yourselves about all that. The Earth's life is following its course, just as yours is following its own. Here below, you are all passing through; the Earth is not. Its time is not ephemeral like yours.

It will still have much to undergo; human beings themselves do not spare it. That is the saddest part of the story.
