Everything has its raison d'être, don't you know it! Hence this need for surrender. All becomes clear over time and ensures that destiny is fulfilled, even if not to the liking of human beings. Following a spiritual path helps one understand and respond appropriately to the vicissitudes of Earthly existence. Interiorising oneself, opening one's heart to the effects of grace, allows one to assess the distance travelled. What would an incarnation be without the reassuring prospect that all these trials are necessary for reaching the goal? Whether they are aware of this principle or not, human beings are subjected to the laws; these are immutable. Each step is taken for the good, and even if it is painful, it contributes to the best for the human being.

All this is not easy to understand; to admit it is a sign of wisdom – a wisdom that is only too ready to manifest in all possible situations. Rebelling yields nothing constructive. Everyone does what they can. There is no need to judge but only to help by whatever means are available in the given circumstances. To see only the good in everyone is wisdom itself. No one is perfect, there is a long way to go, and the prospect of success gives every reason for courage. Faith sustains the seeker, whose efforts are never in vain, no matter what happens.
