Ordeals are formative, and they must be experienced in such a spirit even if it is not always easy to understand this and grasp, beyond the event, the deeper meaning of a situation. Human beings are faced with the karma that is reserved for each of them. How to accept it and, as much as possible, emerge from each ordeal having grown? True wisdom does not come easily, but all are on their way and progressing at their own pace.

Following a spiritual path allows one to see things differently and to draw lessons from every event. An incarnation offers opportunities, each of which allows a person to advance in understanding and, if possible, in tolerance towards others. Nothing is simple here below; we must admit it, and especially accept it, in order to make real progress by drawing lessons from each event. A Master of very high calibre is not spared either – his life is fraught with physical and moral sufferings; such is the rule, the law in all its rigour. Seeing beyond appearances to the deeper meaning of events broadens understanding and allows one to put the reality of the facts into perspective. A spiritual Master is an example: to become incarnate, he must take on all that comprises life and human characteristics, such as they are, and he must deal with it. Such are the laws of

life in all its manifestations. May all move forward and strengthen themselves in the face of adversity, sustained by the perspectives that a spiritual process offers them.
