In Sahaj Marg, we do not like to accomplish visible miracles, or to make big shows to impress the crowd; that is not our real purpose. What matters is to lead you to the destination, as fast as possible, with simplicity, moderation and effectiveness. The lovers of big rituals are disappointed.

"You enter the Mission, it suits you and you stay—this is a sign of wisdom; you have gone beyond superfluity. The truth is simple, so is the individual work. We do not ask you to lead a life of a hermit or to be cloistered. You lead a normal life which leads you each day to face up to responsibilities and to manage. Evasion is not an advisable solution. Life is the best playing field where one can learn its rules: low blows, bending the rules, injustices, as well as fraternity, defeat and victory. All means aimed at developing man's qualities in an individual are fundamental.

"The spiritual life is parallel to all that, but it benefits from all these experiences. With time, you will be used, at least for a while, beside your usual practice, to plunge into yourself and to earn strength from there; in certain circumstances you will find there the inspiration you need. Never shy away from your responsibilities and the difficulties emerging in your life; they are your best assets to progress, depending on the way you face up to things."
