It is not easy for man to see himself as being infinitely small, compared to the whole of creation. He is only one pulsation of life, an atom of an extreme smallness, an element of a vibratory mass corresponding to the level of the Earth. He is seeking, hopelessly for an explanation to the many phenomena that he cannot grasp, not having the appropriate reference marks. He situates himself with great difficulty, using approximations corresponding to the advances in science, which are not going in the right direction. Finally, these great eternal truths do not impart anything to man. Would his life be made easier if he knew them? Would he lead an incarnation not satisfying him any better? It is not very probable.
"Having recourse to faith is an invaluable help for one who actually wants to go in depth into this quest. Many ways are offered to him for that. Will he be able to be committed satisfactorily? In due time, he will eventually find his way, and the Master who is destined for him; this aspect is reassuring for him. He is not doomed to wander eternally, without finding a solution to his quest. Consciously or not, he has that aspiration; it belongs to him, to his inner being, made of a subtle and indefinable essence which he cannot detect, as it exists beyond matter. The wisest man cannot understand everything. How could he? This smallness mentioned above, restricts him to his potential, which ranks very low on the scale of values. He is small, and so he remains before God, the creator of everything. It rests with him to work from one incarnation to another, to get worthy of serving Him."
