Why wouldn't we revert many times to the same subjects? The majority of our remarks have no effect on you, in terms of truly hitting their target. The instructor is always confronted with the same problem: how to cross the barrier that limits the listener to only hearing, and instead move him towards actual awareness. The mystery of the human being manifests itself in the reality of this fact: how to catch his attention to the extent of aiming accurately for what he can possibly grasp? We know, and that is nothing new, that many repetitions are necessary until the moment when a word, a sentence will manage to touch the sensitive part of the being. To hear, listen, read and understand – these are exercises to be repeated to 'strike' one's conscience. It does not lend itself to a massive intrusion of diverse elements likely to divert it. It is selective and slow in its reactions, reacting according to special criteria. It follows its pace in an immutable way, escaping any rational study. It cannot be bombarded in a rapid-fire succession of arguments, even if it is about truths likely to make it evolve. It has its own limits; it is sometimes necessary to give it time to assimilate simple thoughts, clear and high at the same time, capable of helping man in the development of his spirit. Such is the human being, in the secret meanders of his being."
