Who has no weaknesses, my child? A human being must continuously face up to difficulties. They accompany him throughout his life, and they happen to take on an excessive importance according to circumstances. Nobody is perfect and life is not simple. One needs to be very strong physically and morally to always act as a hero. True strength, omnipresent and immutable, is this presence in man that gives him the courage to advance when everything seems desperate. He has no control over it [this presence]; it lives in him and is granted its importance by a heart that knows how to perceive it. It comforts, it strengthens a being and keeps growing when it is called with fervour. It offsets human insufficiencies when a true place is offered to it, and it strengthens the most destitute. This powerful flame, which can grow ad infinitum, makes the weakest being courageous in the face of danger, and valiant throughout his life. The only true resource of a human being resides in this power which he cannot define, and which can help him in all circumstances, whatever the name that he gives it when it is called."
