No one can escape his own destiny, and yours is to live here and now. Thus was it decided and the laws cannot be infringed. Each cycle of life has its own importance, whether it is yours or that of a planet; it follows its course, unrelentingly. The sages have understood it for a long time. They observe the sky and question it, hoping for an answer to their questions. They bow before God the Almighty. They surrender and have confidence [as both] their limited view of the things and their comprehension do not go beyond this human identity. They withdraw inside themselves and pray. They also dream of future times, when Eden will be established on the Earth and will delight humans. From time immemorial their wisdom came down to us. They prepared what was best in each man and in their own manner; they transformed this world, letting the most enlightened men have an inkling of the extent to which human nature is perfectible. Let a song of hope rise from your hearts, thus corroborating that of the sages of the past who believed in divine mercy."
