With time, my son's birthday has become more important within the Mission. It is an opportunity for abhyasis to express their love and respect for him. A spiritual Master of his stature has much to do; the present daily life imposes a hectic schedule on him. He is expected in various parts of the world; he lives in the environment of the present means of communication, which is practical, but exacting. He must face problems of all sorts, including complicated matters some of which are of a legal nature – from which he should be preserved. Any addition to his spiritual role is heavy to manage. Masters of the past led quieter lives, although they were not spared either. In spite of the sprawling upsurge of materialism in India, this country remains a beacon in spirituality. Let's hope that it will remain so in the centuries to come, and continue providing to the world the wisdom it needs. We are working in that direction. You also should become beacons; may your faith and your love for your brothers contribute to this achievement."
