Life is a tough school. End-of-year exams are sometimes painful, but with hindsight, they soften the hearts open enough to understand their meaning.
"The wise man, who actually wants to learn from them, advances in life with a philosophy that strengthens him and creates armour for him.
"Well accepted, these ordeals make him advance, and he realises that they enrich his life. This understanding requires much wisdom; it takes a lot of suffering in a state of acceptance for the soul to emerge from this chaos into all its beauty.
"The ways of life hold surprises until the end. The least resistance must be rooted out to actually let the heart of the being show up, in harmony with its Creator. Progress can be slow, but life takes its time. The soul opens out at nature's pace, without brusqueness.
"You who have already understood all these principles and who are not exasperated by our remarks, you have acquired a great wealth, which you cannot lose no matter what happens."
